When most people think of weddings, their minds jump to the sunny days of summer or the fresh blooms of spring. But there’s something deeply enchanting about a countryside wedding in February — a time when nature is still, the air is crisp, and love feels even more magical against a cosy, rustic barn backdrop.
Abee and Alex created the most magical day with every detail thought of. With the weather on our side and the spring warmth starting to break through it meant the day was filled with beautiful photos in the snow drops and evening chats outside around the fire pit.
Abee and Alex chose to start their day off with a magical ceremony conducted by Ruth from Ceremonies by Ruth. Having a celebrant led ceremony is an amazing day to create a relaxed and personal service. With readings and poems from friends and family it made it even more personal for our lovely couple.
After the ceremony was complete it was time for all guests to step outside for the all important confetti photograph. Emma was on hand to help filter all guests into two lines ready to welcome our newlyweds. Whilst the drinks reception was taking place, photos were taking place outside the barn with a blanket of snowdrops behind.
The beauty of Curds Hall Barn is everything can take place under one roof. From your ceremony to your drinks reception, dinner, and dancing, guests can stay warm and dry all day long. There’s no need to dash between buildings or worry about wet shoes and umbrellas — just cosy interiors, ambient lighting, and the comfort of knowing that every part of your day can flow seamlessly, no matter what’s happening outside.
After a few hours guests were seated for dining ready to tuck into a beautiful grazing buffet by Gold Leaf Catering. There are so many ways couples can create their perfect dining experience. Our list of eight recommended caterers will help you create your perfect menu as we know how important food can be!
Whilst guests were dining in the Woodshed it was time for the band to set up in the Main Barn ready for guests to move through and evening guests to arrive. Abee and Alex chose the Bear Club band for their evening entertainment and they definitely did not disappoint! With a large dancefloor space it’s a great opportunity for our couples to choose their favourite bands and create the perfect atmosphere. The evening bar was buzzing with our couples chosen cocktails going down a treat. Alex chose Amaretto sours and Abee chose a Passionfruit Martini which both went down a treat!
At the end of the night our couple and a few guests headed back to The Old Coach House accommodation where they stayed for two nights. Our on site accommodation is a great base for your wedding weekend allowing a seamless arrival to the venue as well as relaxing the day after your wedding.
Abee and Alex you have been such a pleasure to work with and we wish you and Lyla all the best! Xx
