Beth & Dan - Oct'24

Autumn weddings have a certain charm with the crisp air, vibrant foliage, and cosy atmosphere creating a romantic setting for couples who love nature’s changing colours. Beth and Dan married in October and planned an autumnal wedding that perfectly embodied the beauty of the season.

One of the most breath taking aspects of autumn is the colourful transformation of the trees. For this wedding, the couple fully embraced the season by incorporating the natural beauty of the surrounding foliage, bringing the outside in.

Beth, Dan and their family and friends spent the day before the wedding in the barn following the meticulously curated spreadsheet of tasks to be completed. They decided early on in their planning that they would like to undertake a lot of the styling themselves and they had everything ready to go.

The ceremony area featured an arch draped with burnt orange fabric and sprays of autumnal blooms and foliage, giving a natural, woodland-inspired look. Giant pedestals of flowers also added to the aesthetic.

As the ceremony began, a light rain started to fall—an element that could have dampened the mood but instead added a magical touch to the day. Rather than seeing the rain as a hindrance, the couple embraced it as part of their autumnal wedding story. The rain brought out the rich colours of the foliage even more, and the landscape provided stunning photo opportunities at every turn.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the barn before they were welcomed into the Woodshed for the wedding breakfast. The décor continued the autumnal theme, with Vases of dried leaves and candles on our long wooden tables, in between giant wooden boards waiting to be laden with delicious goodies.

Overhead, wooden ladders had been hung above the dining tables and covered with various foliage in warm, earthy colours. Amongst the foliage, small glass globes holding candles hung, giving the room a beautiful soft glow.

To keep everyone warm and cosy, the couple provided wool blankets for their guests to wrap up in as they enjoyed the evening and a smore’s bar offered jars of biscuits and marshmallows to be toasted over the fire pit—perfect for an autumn day.

One of the highlights of this wedding was the live music, which brought a unique and soulful energy to the celebration. Lee Vann played during the reception, filling the barn with the sound of acoustic guitar and melodic vocals. As the night went on, the tempo increased as Lee was joined by DJ Platinum Sounds and guests took to the dance floor.

This autumnal wedding was a stunning celebration of the season, filled with warmth, love, and natural beauty. From the vibrant foliage and cosy indoor reception to the live music and unexpected rain showers, every element came together to create a day that was as magical as it was memorable. Congratulations Beth and Dan!
