Emily & Damien - September '21

We learnt the day before their wedding that Curds Hall Barn was the first and only wedding venue Emily and Damien viewed, which made us feel even more honoured to be hosting their special day.

Set up day saw our super calm couple arrive with their entourage, geared up to transform the barn with Emily’s ‘less is more’ vision in mind. Dried flowers and neutral tones complemented the natural beauty of the Main Barn and our rustic dining tables whilst Authentic Charm donned the Woodshed with fairy lights, candles and drapes for the perfect ceremony setting.

Bright sunshine filled the skies as Damien arrived with his best man Ryan and their four legged friends Vincent, Ellie and Barney; all of which were wearing matching collars and leads to the Groomsmens belts. As guests started arriving, emotions ran high for Damien who was comforted by sister-in-law Rose who also happened to be one of the registrars conducting their ceremony as well as their cake maker - what a talented lady!

Emily arrived in style, driven by her brother, in the most beautiful, open topped bright blue vintage car which had been lovingly restored by her Dad and brothers, especially for her wedding day. We were slightly relieved to see it in one piece as a mere five weeks before the wedding, we heard that it had been completely stripped into parts and it was a race against time to get it finished!

Announced as the new Mr and Mrs Taylor, and accompanied by Vincent and Ellie back down the aisle, guests made their way around the rear of the barn for a confetti shot with our newly weds before enjoying drinks and canapes in the sunshine from B and R Dining. Garden games kept the children entertained as well as trips up and down our drive in Emily and Damien’s wedding car, allowing their photographer and videographer to capture some beautiful moments to look back on.

Heartfelt speeches were followed by a barbeque feast and indulgent desserts to fuel guests for an evening on the dance floor. As the night drew in and the fire pit was lit, the sounds of Emily and Damien’s chosen band, who travelled all the way from Brighton (!), got the party well and truly started in The Woodshed until last orders were announced.

After saying goodbye to their nearest and dearest, our newly weds made the short walk to our parkland area where their luxurious bell tent from Norfolk Bell Tent Hire awaited them. Donned with a full sized king bed, bubbles to continue their celebrations and some late night snacks, it was the perfect end to a perfect day.
