Summer finally arrived today just in time for Evie and Brad to say I Do!
Having spent the day before the wedding at the barn with family, decorating the space and enjoying the excitement of the day to come, Evie and Brad went their separate ways knowing that the next time they see each other will be as they meet at the end of the aisle, ready to exchange vows.
Evie started her morning in The Old Coach House on-site accommodation. Bridal preparations were accompanied by a gourmet buffet breakfast as Evie’s mum and bridesmaids helped her prepare for the big day. Evie’s Step-Dad had been tasked with driving the bride to the ceremony. Not liking to do things by halves, Evie pulled up the drive in a giant red tractor adorned with white ribbons!
Now officially husband and wife, Brad and Evie made their way out onto the lawn under beautiful blue skies as their guests showered them with confetti.
With an alfresco drink reception of prosecco and ice cream planned, Evie and Brad added
large plant pots which had been specially prepared, filled with gorgeous meadow flowers, adding to the natural beauty of the outside space and the summery feeling of the day.
Before heading back inside, there was just time for a surprise visitor to make his grand entrance! Topgun, weighing in at over a tonne, made his way around the barn to meet with Evie on the lawn. Evie’s beloved show bull posed beautifully to have his photo taken with the bride and groom!
Evie and Brad chose decorations that gave the barn a very delicate, summery, meadow-like feel - perfect for June! Their florist was given a colour palette and free reign to create something pretty and summery. This is always a great move as it’s the perfect way to ensure that seasonal blooms are used and your budget is maximised. Pink, purple and white florals were combined with soft green table runners and glass bottles on the tables. Large displays also adorned a natural wooden arbour which perfectly framed the newly weds as they enjoyed barbecue platters followed by lemon tart - the perfect summery menu .
Beautiful florals were a continuing theme, as Brad and Evie’s cake also featured delicate pressed natural flowers.
A theme doesn’t always have to be an obvious feature or single colour. A general scheme that has a colour palette and a coordinated feel can be much more subtle and successful. Take inspiration from your favourite things, colours and seasons and start to build from there.
In keeping with the feel of the day, English Garden cocktails were served over the bar in the evening - the delicious combination of gin, elderflower, apple and mint, and a great accompaniment to hog roast!
Evie and Brad enjoyed a beautiful Norfolk sunset before hitting the dance floor in the Main Barn with friends and family. A colourful, warm and relaxed summer day for a much loved couple. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Gardiner!
