Georgina & Ben - Sep '24

With September drawing to a close, Georgina and Ben were sent the last of the summer sunshine as they married at Curds Hall Barn.

Georgina had always had a fairly clear idea of how she wanted to dress the barn and she had a small army of helpers with her on the day before the wedding to help get everything set up. The couple had a subtle Italian theme running throughout the day with the soft, earthy tones of a green and cream colour palette. The result was a stunning fusion of rustic elegance and Mediterranean flair.

The barn’s wooden beams and exposed brick and limewash walls provided the ideal canvas for the couple's Italian-inspired vision. The green and cream colour scheme was central to the design, creating a fresh, serene ambiance. The ceremony area was swathed in cream drapes and framed with overhead lighting and an array of olive trees. Floral arrangements lined the aisle with pampas grass, cream roses and lots of greenery, including more olive, of course.

Georgina was beautiful in an off-the-shoulder satin gown with a cathedral length veil but, as predicted, it was little Freddie who stole the show in his suit - absolutely adorable!

There was enough sunshine for guests to enjoy drinks and canapes on the lawn before they made their way into the Woodshed to dine. The barn was transformed with long wooden tables dressed with greenery and olive branches, candle lanterns and more dreamy drapes. Green napkins and personalised thank you notes decorated place settings and Georgina had made each guest their own named keepsake.

Large wooden boards awaited a three course Italian-inspired feast. Guests were treated to a multi-course meal that started with antipasti platters filled with cured meats, cheeses, marinated vegetables, and fresh bread. The main course featured a variety of handmade pasta dishes and in the evening wood-fired pizzas were served straight from a mobile oven stationed outside the front of the barn under the festoon lighting.

To keep with the Italian theme, the bar served signature cocktails of Aperol Spritz and Old Fashioned and the couple even provided personalised bottles of limoncello as wedding favours, adding another special touch to their day.

The green and cream colour scheme was carried through to the bar area with green velvet sofas and cream armchairs for guests to relax on as they enjoyed a cocktail.

The sunshine was followed by a stunning sunset that created the perfect backdrop for Georgina and Ben to have romantic photos before hitting the dancefloor hard,

This couple did such a fantastic job of showcasing how the barn can be transformed into an elegant, themed celebration without losing its inherent charm. The Italian-inspired details and the green and cream colour scheme worked seamlessly with the natural beauty of the barn, creating a timeless, romantic atmosphere that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Tyson.
