Hannah & Sam - July '22

Due to distance and the uncertainty of COVID, our first planning meeting with Hannah and Sam was a video meeting but after the hour and a half call of hearing all about their wedding, and them, it felt like we had known one another for years.

We finally met in person when Hannah and Sam were back in Norfolk for a long weekend and popped by to test out their fairy lights. In between, we had numerous ‘hellos’ from Hannah’s family who live nearby and often walk the public footpaths close by. Needless to say that by the time we had our final planning meeting, we already felt like part of their family and they were all definitely part of ours!

Hannah and Sam broke at least two CHB records across their wedding weekend; the quickest set up AND the quickest clear down so we now challenge future couples to those titles!

Always being lovers of the natural beauty of the barn and Woodshed, our soon to be newly weds opted for the less is more approach when putting their stamp on the venue. Delicate wheat sheaf and bunny tail arrangements were placed on our rustic dining tables whilst garden games were arranged on the lawn overlooking the fields of wheat basking in the summer sun.

The wedding day saw the Groomsmen arrive early so they could have a quick round of crazy golf before their duties began; whilst the girls had a leisurely morning of hair and make-up prep.

It isn’t often that our Brides arrive on time however, we had slight suspicions Hannah would be early and when the first car of Bridesmaids arrived half an hour before the ceremony was due to start, it was all systems go!

Hannah’s Godmother provided her wedding day transport, in the form of a Land Rover Defender, which took two days to drive up from the South of Cornwall. Complete with white ribbons and an embellished, personalised rear wheel cover, our beautiful Bride arrived at the front doors of the Main Barn beaming from ear to ear.

The Gold Leaf catering team were on hand to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs Smith with a glass of Adnams fizz whilst photographer Joshua Patrick lined up guests in an orderly fashion for that all important confetti shot.

Although it was set to be one of the hottest days of the year, our Cartshed offered some well needed shade during the drinks reception with braver guests enjoying the views underneath our parasols.

In disbelief that it was already time for the wedding breakfast, guests found their seats in the Woodshed where dining tables were named after Hannah and Sam’s favourite places to go. We later learnt in Sam’s speech that they met whilst travelling and exploring new countries is a passion they share.

Platters of barbecued meats and bowls of colourful salads adorned the tables for guests to enjoy together.

With formalities complete, guests spilled out onto the rear lawn to soak up the evening sun whilst we took Hannah and Sam off in the Landy for some golden hour shots and boy, they did not disappoint!

Charcuterie, cheese and cake fuelled the evening party alongside Espresso Martinis and Mojitos from the bar until taxis arrived and it was home time.

Congratulations to the loveliest couple, who are truly meant to be.
