Jake & Luke - Oct '25

There’s something about autumn weddings that brings out the magic of a countryside barn setting with golden light and warm earthy tones that lend themselves perfectly to romance.

Luke and Jake decided that they wanted to book a wedding date that allowed them plenty of time to plan every little detail and to really enjoy the gradual build up to the day and the result was definitely worth it! Together they designed a heartfelt ceremony, a beautiful colour scheme and decor plan, and a delicious menu.

The barn was dressed to perfection in a palette of neutral shades with tonal accents and bold installations. Everywhere you looked, there was something beautiful to take in from the wicker lanterns glowing with candlelight to the delicate drapes and a breathtaking overhead installation of giant lightbulbs and cascading pampas grass. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and timeless.

As guests took their seats beneath the stunning draped ceiling, the gentle and emotive sound of a live string quartet filled the air. The anticipation built beautifully as each groom made his way down the aisle separately, each accompanied by his own bridal party that included Archie, their beloved sausage dog. It was a touching and elegant start to the day that highlighted their individuality while celebrating their partnership.

The ceremony itself was heartfelt and personal. With vows that brought both tears and smiles, it was a moment where time seemed to stand still. As the couple were pronounced married, cheers filled the room and the quartet struck up once more — a triumphant soundtrack for a perfect start to married life.

As the new husbands made their way outside, the autumn sunshine broke through the clouds, creating a golden glow across the lawn. Guests followed, ready with handfuls of confetti to throw as the grooms made their joyful exit hand in hand. The laughter and cheers echoed across the fields — a beautiful reminder of the happiness that filled the day.

Group photographs followed with Archie, of course, stealing the show once again, happily posing with his newly married dads.

As guests made their way back inside, the barn had been subtly transformed for the drinks reception. The string quartet continued to play, providing a refined and romantic soundtrack as guests mingled over delicious canapés and glasses of fizz. The combination of candlelight, natural textures, and soft music created a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.

When it was time for dinner, guests were invited into the Woodshed, which was simply breathtaking. Overhead, more drapes and hanging pampas grass installations created an elegant, immersive canopy effect. Warm tones of burnt orange, plum, and taupe accented the room, bringing a richness to the neutral base and enhancing the cosy, autumnal feel.

At the head of the room, two statement peacock chairs awaited the grooms — a striking feature that added personality and flair to the setup. Candlelight flickered across every surface, reflecting off glassware and highlighting the natural textures of wood, linen, and florals.

Following speeches and a three course wedding breakfast, dusk turned to night and the barn transformed again to form the perfect backdrop for an epic party — the kind where shoes were kicked off, laughter was contagious, and everyone danced until late into the night!

This October wedding was everything a countryside celebration should be — personal, stylish, and full of soul. From the moving ceremony and heartfelt speeches to the stunning décor and high-energy dance floor, it was a day that celebrated love in its truest form.
