Jess & Harrison - April '25

ree

There’s something truly special about an April wedding in the countryside — the fresh spring air, the gentle light, and the sense of new beginnings all around. Jess and Harrison were so excited for their big day to finally arrive and it was a perfect reflection of the season: relaxed, joyful, and full of love from beginning to end.

The day began with a beautiful civil ceremony held inside the rustic barn. With its exposed beams, warm wood tones, and intimate charm, the space created a natural and inviting backdrop as the couple exchanged their vows surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

Jess and her Bride Tribe had been hard at work creating the most gorgeous details to add to the space to truly make it their own. They had got together to hand-paint the most beautiful candles which were placed in a variety of candlesticks, old and new, and dotted around the barn. If you and your closest pals are crafty types it can be a really fun alternative (or addition) to a hen do to get together before the wedding and create something that will be used on the big day - super fun and super personal.

After the ceremony, guests were offered peach Belinis and canapés as friends and family mingled - the perfect start to the celebrations.

Once guests were seated in the Woodshed, two different rounds of speeches between courses saw heartfelt words being shared by family and other members of the bridal party, as well as Harrison himself.

For the wedding breakfast, guests gathered around long wooden tables to enjoy a relaxed and sociable feast of barbecue sharing boards. More of the delicate hand-painted candles decorated the tables alongside an eclectic mix of bud vases with fresh spring flowers.

The couple had also created favours of tiny jars filled with homemade dahl spice mix, another fabulous personal touch, and twinkling fairy lights on the beams added to the cosy atmosphere as guests indulged in tiramisu or chocolate brownie for dessert.

In true personal style, the couple opted for a homemade wedding cake, lovingly baked by the groom’s mum. It was a gorgeous, rustic two-tiered cake that not only looked the part but tasted incredible too. Alongside it, were towers of cute cupcakes decorated with more sugar flowers, and they didn’t hang around long!

A burger and churros van pulled up to the front of the barn and guests sat chatting around the roaring fire pit as they contemplated which of the amazing options on offer they should choose for their evening pick-me-up before heading back onto the dance floor.

The band got the party started with the couple’s first dance and the dancefloor quickly came alive as the happy couple and their friends and family partied into the night.

This April barn wedding was everything a spring-time countryside celebration should be — relaxed, joyful, and filled with personal touches from start to finish. Congratulations Jess and Harry!
