Our first ever Wednesday wedding kicked off our busiest month of the season, with Jess and James setting the bar high for our remaining April couples to follow.
We have loved getting to know them both over the past few months, whether it be at site visits, open days or planning meetings, so we were just as excited for their wedding as they were.
Our final planning meeting gave us the opportunity to meet their excitable fur babies, Hudson and Sidney, who would be a part of their ceremony and drinks reception as VIP guests, of course! We also learnt that after taking inspiration from our open house event in the New Year, Jess and James decided to mix up their plans and follow trend by having their ceremony and evening party in the Main Barn, and dining in the Woodshed.
As we are a blank canvas wedding venue, the spaces available to dress can be overwhelming to some couples so we would definitely recommend entrusting the guidance, experience and talent of lighting professionals, stylists and prop hirers to elevate your vision. Jess and James hired the services of Quirk Events who swagged festoons through the beams in the Woodshed to soften the space and create a cosy dining atmosphere while more festoons and sage green drapes framed the Main Barn beautifully.
While Jess and her bridal party were being pampered in the Old Coach House, James and the boys (humans and dogs!) arrived at the barn to add buttonholes to their suit jackets and bow ties to Hudson and Sidney’s collars.
Little did our Bride and Groom know that Jess’ Mum had arranged a surprise vintage car to chauffeur Jess and her bridesmaids up to the barn in style. After the ceremony, our newlyweds were whisked away for a private drive, complete with a sharing board of canapes and chilled bubbly to enjoy a few moments together and take it all in.
Safely back in the warm and dry of the barn, Jess and James were congratulated by their family and friends whilst enjoying more drinks and canapes to the sweet sounds of the MP3s.
Candles were lit and glasses of fizz poured in readiness for guests to sit back and relax to tales of their Bride and Groom lovingly delivered by the Mother of the Bride and Best Man. Indulgent sweet and savoury afternoon tea boards were then served to our rustic dining tables by Florentina Events in the cosiness of the Woodshed.
Ready to party, guests moved back into the Main Barn for an evening of live music, cocktails and feasting. As last orders were called, our happy couple made their way over to the parkland to enjoy their first night as husband and wife under the stars, in a luxury bell tent - a perfect end to a perfect day.
