Lee & Stephen - May '25

May is one of our favourite months at Curds Hall Barn. The days are longer, the outside spaces are dotted with blossom, and there’s a warmth in the air that sets the tone for the perfect countryside celebration. Lee and Stephen embraced the setting for their beautiful wedding that was personal, joyful, and full of unforgettable moments.

The couple began their day with a traditional ceremony at our local church in Fransham village, surrounded by family, friends, and the scent of fresh spring flowers. Afterwards, guests made their way to our rural barn venue, just a five minute drive through rolling countryside, where the celebration truly came to life.

With onsite accommodation available, the couple and their close loved ones had stayed with us the night before in the Old Coach House— waking to clear blue skies and birdsong. It’s such a lovely way to start the day, and the relaxed, unrushed morning set the tone for everything that followed.

Guests arrived via coach to drinks on the lawn and garden games in full swing. Our outdoor space is perfect for those little in-between moments - lawn games, laughter, and time to soak up the countryside views in the sunshine.

The barn itself had been decorated with homemade touches, and a nod to the Scottish family heritage. Tables were laid with beautifully hand-written place cards finished with tartan ribbons and the room was bursting with spring foliage and stunning pink blooms.

Gorgeous bunting hung from the Cartshed outside featured tartan ribbons and there were toasty tartan rugs to take out to the fire pit in the evening. Not to mention the traditional kilt attire!

The wedding breakfast was served with speeches shared in between each course. This lovely format gave the couple a chance to weave in personal moments throughout the meal - from touching thank yous to hilarious best man stories. With each delicious course came another wave of celebration, laughter, and the occasional happy tear.

As the sun began to dip, guests made their way through to the bar to spend their drink tokens at the bar - an extremely popular wedding favour idea! Margarita cocktails and more than a few Aperol Spritzs were enjoyed alongside wood-fired pizza by the fire pit.

Live music really added to the evening party atmosphere and karaoke was the surprise hit of the night! Inside the barn, guests let loose on the mic, from power ballads to 90s classics — it was the perfect way to end such a joyful, love-filled day.

At Curds Hall Barn, we love seeing each couple bring their own unique style to the space. This May wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition, creativity, and countryside charm. A celebration that truly made the most of everything the season (and our venue) has to offer. Congratulations Lee and Stephen!
