Leonie & James - May '22

The week leading up to a wedding can always test a couple and no matter what was thrown at Leonie, she remained calm and embraced the last minute changes, all whilst being 16 weeks pregnant - hats off to her!

Preparation is key when taking over a DIY wedding venue so any detail you can complete in advance, will help reduce your job list on set up day. The more you can do in advance at home ready to bring together for set up day will really ease any anxiety or overwhelming feeling you may have, which is exactly what Leonie and James did.

With Rodney the Spaniel in tow, Leonie and James got creative with Pampas grass, pine cones and homemade centrepieces the day before, to put their stamp on our rustic dining tables. A huge cattle trough then arrived to take centre stage underneath the Cartshed which was loaded with bottled beer and cider to chill overnight ready for their drinks reception in the sunshine the following afternoon.

James arrived suited and booted in a rather swish, soft top car courtesy of his best man which we later learnt had been a lockdown project to pass the time - what a way to spend those months! We did have a slight panic when James got out of the car, with no Rodney in sight, but we had been assured that he was being escorted separately and hadn’t been forgotten!

Leonie was picture perfect as she too stepped out of another vintage, soft topped car with her Dad standing proud as punch by her side. Her entourage lined up ready to walk down the aisle wearing floor length gowns in soft pink with Bridesman Daniel sporting an extremely suave suit which complimented the girls beautifully.

Announced as the new Mr and Mrs Cunnington, Leonie, James and Rodney the Spaniel walked back down the aisle and had 5 minutes to themselves whilst their nearest and dearest congregated on the rear lawn to shower them with confetti. Guests basked in the afternoon sun, admiring the views whilst drinks flowed and photos were taken of our happy couple.

With the first meal as husband and wife devoured, guests headed back outside to enjoy the perfect summer's evening before the party started.

Congratulations to a wonderful couple, enjoy your last few months as a family of three and we cannot wait to meet the new arrival!
