The last of our April weddings saw Lizzie and Adam tie the knot on one of the hottest days of the month, it was a scorcher!
We met Adam for the first time at our final planning meeting, who was ecstatic to see that the bar had Camden Hells on tap and then went on to convince his Bride-to-be to switch plans up and have the ceremony and evening party in the Main Barn, with dining in the Woodshed. There’s nothing like the Groom having his say literally weeks before the wedding is there ladies?!
The day before the wedding saw a team of helpers rally around to transform the venue to reflect our happy couple and their rustic, country vibe. We loved how Lizzie and Adam found the time to take the dogs for a walk and have some time together amongst the anticipation of the big day and would definitely encourage more of our couples to do the same. Set up days can be full of emotions and stress so by having some quality time together to remind yourselves of why it will all be worth it is so important.
With the final touches in place, Lizzie and Adam separated for the night, with the girls checking into the Old Coach House and the boys heading to the pub to enjoy the build up to the big day with their closest friends.
When the Groomsmen arrived suited and booted, but also donning sunglasses, we did wonder how heavy the night before had been but regardless of any hidden hangovers (!), they couldn’t have been more helpful throughout the day and really did Adam proud.
Lizzie made the short drive from the Old Coach House to the barn in her Dad’s beautiful vintage car, stepping out in an elegant, long sleeved lace gown, ready to meet her soon to be husband at the end of the aisle.
Once the vows and rings had been exchanged, our newlyweds took their seats to sign the register. To keep guests entertained during the formalities, one of Lizzie and Adam’s Bridesmaids took centre stage to sing and blew the congregation away with her stunning voice - what a talent!
Pronounced as the new Mr and Mrs Peck, guests were ushered out onto the rear lawn to shower the happy couple in confetti before enjoying drinks and canapes in the sunshine, soaking up the scenic views.
Guests were soon seated in the comfort of the Woodshed in readiness for the wedding breakfast. In between each delicious course served by Gold Leaf Catering, heartfelt speeches by Father of the Bride, Groom and Best Man were given. Sadly, a few of Lizzie and Adam’s guests were unable to join their celebrations; one of which being Adam’s godfather who took the time to send a telegram for his Best Man to read in his honour which was a lovely, yet emotional way for him to be included.
As our happy couple went off into the parkland for some sunset shots, Lizzie’s student union band from her university days ‘Colonel Spanky’s Love Ensemble’ arrived to set up in the Main Barn. Given the quirky name, we were intrigued to hear them play and boy did they impress!
Whilst the evening barbeque was sizzling and guests huddled around the fire pit, Lizzie disappeared for a surprise dress change so that she could dance the night away to her favourite band with her new husband, friends and family.
