Louise & Danny - August '22

Louise and Danny seemed to take wedding planning in their stride and made it look easy! Louise was still too modest to admit that she had absolutely nailed the planning even on the day itself as she was surrounded by the result!

The day before their wedding, Louise and Danny were joined by family and friends as they began to transform the barn into their own little paradise.

Small glass jars and bottles were filled with a combination of fresh and dried flowers and placed on dining tables in the Woodshed. Louise had also cleverly introduced pops of colour to the tables via napkins and glassware, to beautiful effect.

In the Main Barn, Mum’s handmade bunting was hung from the mezzanine and pictures of Danny and Louise together were dotted around.

Louise and Danny had previously attended a Curds Hall Barn Open House and left with ideas of vintage sofa seating arrangements with large oak barrels for drink tables to give the bar area a snug, cosy feel (as well as providing comfortable seating for Grandparents!). This, combined with giant velvet floor cushions under the Cartshed gave guests a choice of comfortable seating areas to chill and chat.

Louise looked incredible as she arrived in an oyster coloured, full skirted gown with full length veil. Louise’s sister wore full length coral satin as her bridesmaid but little Ayla however, had other ideas and decided that she would rather select her own outfit, relegating her specially chosen dress to become the most beautiful decoration we think the barn has ever seen!

After fourteen years of waiting, Louise was clearly ready to tie the knot as she all but ran down the aisle towards her true love! After exchanging vows and rings, the couple signed the register of marriages. As guests chatted amongst themselves, background music was played. This is often a really great time to inject a little fun into proceedings and select tracks that your guests may not be expecting - it’s a great way to personalise things and makes a great conversation starter! Our couple gave a cheeky nod to their shared love of Dr Who with a few tracks from the TV series.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed Louise’s favourite, macarons and popcorn, alongside their drinks before being invited to take their seats in the Woodshed for the Wedding Breakfast.

L and D invited the Father of the Bride to say a few words before thanking their guests for attending and completing the day’s formalities with the cutting of their three tier cake.

The grand finale of the day has to be Louise and Danny’s carefully choreographed first dance to Nat King Cole’s L-O-V-E. They had taken lessons and practised (including a cheeky last-minute practise in the stubble field just beforehand!) to perfect the dance and it was a very special way to kick off the party and encourage guests onto the dance floor.

Louise, Danny and Ayla Jordan-Land, congratulations on making your family name official! We hope you continue to surround each other with love and happiness.
