Lucy & Matt - June '22

Lucy and Matt were one of our most chilled out couples of the season, from planning meetings, to set-up day, they took every step of the whirlwind journey of wedding planning in their stride.

Lucy dedicated hours and hours of her spare time in the lead up to the wedding to decorating jam jars for her dried floral arrangements that would sit on our rustic dining tables, and hand embroidering individual napkins with ‘M & L’ for guests to take home to remember their special day.

With so many children attending the wedding, we loved how Lucy transformed the Mezzanine into a chill out area for them. Mini tipis, comfy cushions and cosy blankets meant there was always a space for them to have some downtime from all the excitement. Lucy and Matt also had an extremely talented friend who designed a bespoke activity pack to keep the children entertained during the meal and speeches. As part of the pack, there was a game included where they had to find certain members of the bridal party and ask them to perform challenges in order to win a prize.

Lucy and Matt definitely embraced having children at their wedding and really made it fun for them, which in turn meant the parents could relax and enjoy themselves. If you are including children within your special day then think of ways to keep them entertained, you’ll feel like you’ve made them feel included and you’ll make their parents very happy!

The morning of the wedding welcomed Matt and his Groomsmen to the barn early to have a whisky to calm the nerves before his guests arrived. Lucy was busy being pampered in the Old Coach House with her girls, cool as a cucumber which wasn’t surprising given how smooth sailing their planning journey had been!

Stepping out of the car in the most beautiful lace gown from Pure Brides, embellished with rhinestones glistening in the summer sunshine, Lucy was picture perfect donning a bright red lip and Hollywood curls.

Our happy couple exchanged vows and rings in the Woodshed, beautifully framed by a stunning floral archway arranged by Oops A Daisy earlier that morning. Pronounced as the new Mr and Mrs Kitchin, bubbles were poured and buckets of beer were chilled on ice for guests to enjoy on the rear lawn. The Gold Leaf team were soon on hand circulating with a delicious selection of canapes whilst the children let off some steam with the garden games provided.

To complement the beautiful weather outside, sharing platters of barbecued meats and summer salads were served to the dining tables for guests to devour before indulging in some delicious desserts ahead of the speeches.

As evening guests arrived we were excited to welcome Moco Kitchen to Curds Hall Barn for the first time - their tacos and Bao buns were to die for!

Band, The Deputies, were back for the second time this season for another night of banging live music and classic tunes to really get the party started

Congratulations to our newlyweds, wishing you so much love and happiness for your new lives together. We hope you have the most incredible honeymoon in Barbados!
