Megan and Matty are two of our very own NHS heroes and after the last year, we can’t think of anyone more deserving of a perfect wedding day than this fabulous couple!
Megan and her entourage were keen to make a full weekend of the celebrations, staying on-site in our fabulous Old Coach House accommodation, and we can’t say we blame them! After a day spent decorating the barn with gorgeous floral decorations and fairy lights, what better place to retire for an evening with the girls? Bridal preparations the following morning set the tone for a glamorous and fun-filled day with the girls all in matching robes.
As Megan and her Bridesmaids arrived at the barn, they were greeted by Megan’s auntie who works as a registrar and was able to conduct Megan and Matty’s ceremony for them. Such a wonderfully personal touch that meant the world to Megan.
Megan stood arm in arm with her dad alongside her gorgeous bridesmaids as they readied themselves to walk down the aisle in the Woodshed which had been decorated with fairy lights and the most stunning large hoop backdrop with floral arrangements.
We would always advise that when planning decor, your budget is used to better effect by opting for fewer large statement pieces rather than lots of smaller bits and pieces that can get a bit lost. Even better if you can ‘reuse’ the statement pieces in other areas of the day to really make the most of them!
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy drinks and canapes on the rear lawn as photographs were taken. The ‘formal’ shots were anything but, as this incredibly close group of family and friends joked around. Katherine Mackintosh Photography managed to capture the epic photobomb of one of the Groomsmen stealing a Bridesmaid bouquet that had been playfully thrown into the air mid-photo - an excellent capture of the vibe of the day!
Like many grooms, I’m sure Matty would admit to having taken a secondary role in the majority of the wedding planning but he did have one area in which he was sure to take full responsibility - the bouncy castle - which went down a storm!
As guests took in the views from the lawn, Matty and Megan made their way over to the parkland for more photographs including some with smoke grenades - the results of which were just stunning.
Guests took their seats for dining at tables dressed with foliage runners and fairy lights and, following the speeches, were treated to a delicious wedding breakfast finishing with warm chocolate brownies - a real crowd pleaser.
The cutting of the cake and the newlywed’s first dance concluded formalities and with the bar open and the whiskey flowing, it was time to get the party started. Guests enjoyed a barbecue served from under the Cartshed alongside a photo booth and dancing well into the night to celebrate the wedding of this wonderful couple - Congratulations Megan and Matty!
