Rebecca and Scott fell in love with Curds Hall Barn when they first visited as it provided the perfect blank canvas and flexibility to allow them to piece together the wedding day that they really wanted. Curds Hall Barn Coordinators are passionate about assisting our couples in planning a completely bespoke experience that incorporates all of the elements that are important to them as a couple and, supporting them in choosing not to do some of the things that would traditionally be a part of the wedding day, because, isn’t it more fun to create our own traditions?!Â
There can be a misconception that an informal wedding day may feel less ‘weddingy’ but this was certainly not the case with Rebecca and Scott’s big day. Our gorgeous bride had planned a beautiful colour scheme of creams and soft dusky pinks which was carried throughout the whole day and added a romantic feel to the barn.Â
The intimate ceremony took place in the Woodshed with soft, romantic drapes and jars of white blooms to line the aisle. Rebecca wore a lovely gown with a modern feel to it. Covered in subtle sequins, it really had an additional wow factor on the dancefloor in the evening.Â
The super talented Keeley Rayner sang Rebecca and her adorable baby girl down the aisle - not a dry eye in the house! A live musician during the ceremony, particularly a vocalist, really adds to that goosebump moment as you walk down the aisle and can also ramp up the celebrations as you walk back up the aisle as newlyweds.
Following the ceremony, guests played games on the lawn and enjoyed drinks under blue skies. The smell of barbecue was soon in the air and guests helped themselves to a selection of goodies, returning to their seats on the lawn. Garden tables had also been decorated, continuing the colour scheme from the barn to the al fresco areas.Â
After enjoying barbecue, there were an array of sweet treats to choose from in the form of a sweetie table, biscuits, popcorn and a doughnut wall alongside the beautiful two-tiered wedding cake - something for everyone!Â
Our newlyweds are not a couple who enjoy the limelight and weren’t keen on having many photographs taken but had thought about a couple of specific shots that they wanted their photographer to capture, particularly in the evening. It’s definitely worth having a conversation with your photographer in advance to establish if there are any specific shots that you would like to capture. It’s usually a good move to keep the structured and group shots to a minimum and let your photographer focus on capturing the moments that will become memory markers. This also worked really nicely with the general feeling of Rebecca and Scott’s relaxed day.
The fluid atmosphere continued into the evening with guests moving between the party in the barn and chilled vibes in the gardens. Mr and Mrs Buck, you created a truly beautiful and wonderfully relaxed day that was enjoyed by all of your guests. A wonderful celebration of your love for each other and your precious little girl!
