Given Jimmy’s military background, it was hardly surprising to learn that his and Sam’s wedding was planned with precision.
It was so very clear from the first day we met them, just how much they adored one another and that developed even more as the big day grew closer. Set up day saw a very focussed Bride and a very emotional Groom arrive to have a run through with us and their catering team before the task of transforming the venue into their perfect setting began. Helpers arrived and each had their role of successfully completing the military operation that had been assigned to them.
The morning of the wedding welcomed photographer Megan Duffield back to the barn and videographer George from GLR Visual for his first gig with us and what a dream team they made!
Jimmy arrived in full military uniform, beaming from ear to ear that he was soon to marry the love of his life. More emotional than the day before, he took some time out with his Best Man to compose himself before taking position at the top of the aisle ready to welcome his Bride.
Sam is a natural beauty and stepped out of the car looking utterly radiant in a strapless lace bodice, flowing chiffon skirt and Cathedral length veil. By Jimmy’s facial expressions as she joined him in the Woodshed to become Mrs Keenan, it was clear that he was totally blown away by how his soon to be wife looked and quite rightly so - Sam was picture perfect and absolutely glowing with happiness.
Celebrating for the first time as husband and wife, our newlyweds enjoyed a glass of bubbly together and had 5 minutes to themselves while their guests formed a tunnel on the lawn steps. Confetti in hands and a guard of honour pending, our happy couple appeared to be congratulated by their nearest and dearest.
A delicious selection of canapes were served in the afternoon sunshine by Florentina Events whilst the bubbly flowed to mark the happy occasion. Before long, guests were summoned into the Main Barn for the official cake cutting, with only Jimmy’s military sword fit to execute such an honour.
Speeches were followed by a hearty main course and a dessert grazing table overflowing with indulgent brownies, delicious filled doughnuts and Sam’s homemade wedding cake for all to devour.
As evening guests arrived, Sam slipped away for a quick dress change in readiness for their choreographed first dance. Appearing in a slinky, embellished cocktail dress, all eyes were on our happy couple as the lights were dimmed and their chosen track began.
Freshly made pizzas were devoured to keep those moves going on the dance floor with some hard drum and base tracks, setting the scene for the night ahead.
Congratulations to a beautiful couple that simply light up a room together, it has been an honour to witness your love for one another.
