We refer to Siobhan and Andy as one of the ‘OG’ couples of CHB, as they booked the venue amidst the various COVID lockdowns and before the venue even had a wedding team in place! They took a punt on us as a fresh venue, trusted our promises of new loos and 3 years later, they FINALLY got married (with a shiny new bar and loos thrown into the equation!).
There are no words to describe Siobhan other than as a planning goddess. We do need to also applaud Andy for recognising that he just had to agree to her ideas and wish lists throughout the three year planning process, but even more, so for putting his foot down when visiting the Aladdin’s Cave of Array’s furniture and prop hire, making her justify the items she ‘needed’!
Siobhan (and Andy!) fell in love with the Woodshed as their ceremony space, as it reflected their style and personality perfectly. Draped with black muslin from Boomting Bunting and styled with sophisticated signage from Synched Events, Siobhan and Andy wanted the natural beauty of the space to show with a ‘less is more approach’. Guests were welcomed into the Woodshed to candlelight and the smell of fresh flowers adorning the beams, eagerly anticipating their gorgeous Bride’s entrance. A special guest also greeted their nearest and dearest in the form of a cardboard cut out of their black lab, Gus, who was too nervous to make an appearance in person.
Finally, Siobhan and her bride tribe made their appearance, letting Andy sweat at the top of the aisle for a few minutes longer whilst dresses were adjusted and make up was perfected. With a special vocal performance by Andy’s Mum to entertain guests during the ceremony, the register was signed, sealed and delivered before the new Mr and Mrs Wharton were announced - AT LAST!
Ceremony complete, the team from B and R Dining were on hand with Pimms, Prosecco and beers once our newly weds had been showered with confetti on the rear lawn. Another Saturday of glorious weather meant that alfresco drinks receptions were here to stay and as guests basked in the afternoon sun, the canapes and drinks flowed until dinner.
Meanwhile, in the Main Barn, black runners and candles adorned our rustic dining tables with black peacock chairs in position behind the top table for our newlyweds to take their seats ahead of a set of heartfelt speeches. To complement the summer sunshine, a barbeque feast of boards of delicious meats and bowls of fresh salads were served for guests to indulge in ahead of B and R’s signature trio of dessert to fuel an evening of garden games, party shots and dance moves!
As more guests arrived to congratulate the happy couple, the Ibiza classics were cranked up a notch to really get the party started. With Aperol Spritz and English Garden cocktails now available behind the bar, it was soon time for the white chocolate ganache wedding cake masterpiece to be cut before guests crowded around the dance floor to witness Siobhan and Andy’s first dance as husband and wife.
Congratulations to you both and happy honeymoon planning Siobhan as we know you’ll be missing your wedding spreadsheets already!
